Albert Perez on logical conclusion
Every now and then the subject of democracy versus freedom is brought up.
Democracy: T-shirt salesman has students vote if their senior T shirt will be black with red script or red with black script*. Everyone gets whatever the majority votes for.
Freedom (actually free market): Majority vote T-shirt available at lower price due to being able to order in larger quantity. Minority pays slightly higher mark up to allow for reduction of amount of bulk discount. Limited edition versions, for example, current uniform camo with olive drab lettering for ROTC, or tie dye with paisley lettering for die hard hippie types are available at a premium.
Give me freedom.
*My high school's colors when I graduated. They closed in 1972 so no one can claim I'm being partisan for any existing schools.

Recently The Editor remarked that I had "ridden off into the sunset." Well, no actually it was into the sunrise, seeing as how I moved East from Arizona to Texas. However, later I went and did move West, from Texas to California. The plan is to spend about 6-months in Texas with my son and family and then to spend about 6-months in California with my daughter and family. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get really tired of that twice-a-year journey, though. Whether my son and/or daughter get tired of me remains to be seen.
However, the Heat Dome is making me think about moving to Alaska and building a shack on a glacier. But I seem to hear them (Them!) saying the winter is also going to be abnormally winterish. That is, cold. Very, excessively, abnormally cold. Are we all going to have to become "snow birds" moving North in the summer and South in the winter? Climate nomads?

In case you are wondering where insisting that everything be politically correct will get you: The Chinese Communist Party is rewriting the Bible. China’s Chairman Xi is taking unprecedented control over religion as part of his powergrab. The party’s Bible rewrite has Jesus turn killer instead of forgiving sin.
Before you say it can't happen here, Barack Obama found it necessary to give the following warning. The readers of TLC have never accused hum of being overly fond of liberty. If things are bad enough for him to cry foul, that's pretty bad. Barack Obama Warns American Christians That Sacred Texts Are Threatened.
