"A libertarian is a person who believes that no one has the right,
under any circumstances, to initiate force against another human
being, or to advocate or delegate its initiation. Those who act
consistently with this principle are libertarians, whether they
realize it or not. Those who fail to act consistently with it are
not libertarians, regardless of what they may claim."

A Message From the Publisher

I'll keep this short. This issue of The Libertarian
Enterprise is about Tuesday's Littleton shootings. Every
attempt is going to be made by totalitarian politicians and the
shameless whores of the mass media to turn this unfortunate event
into a funeral for the Bill of Rights.
Don't let them do it. What happened in Littleton is their fault and
they must be called to answer for it. They must be placed on the
defensive where they belong. It is their policies which created this
horror.
You can aid the side of reason and decency by passing this issue --
or any article you like from it -- around as widely as possible. Hit
the "forward" button on your browser and help a world that needs it.
Do it fast, before they do it to you.
Toward liberty!

One of many mantras you'll hear over the next few days is that The
Troubles are brought about by the "availability of guns". For those
too young to remember, a kid in the '50s could carry a gun just about
anywhere (outside the cities) without drawing much attention from the
citizenry, much less from police SWAT teams (which didn't exist
then). And guns were "available" by mail from the Sears catalogue.
Yet somehow, "school shootings just didn't happen." -- Ed.
