Libertarian "Endorsement" of Dennis Kucinich I, Michael W. Blessing of the Libertarian Party of New Mexico, am formally endorsing Dennis Kucinich for the Democratic Presidential nomination. It is only the right thing to do—after all, Dennis is a Democrat's Democrat, willing and ready to expand the FDR-era "New Deal" and LBJ-era "Great Society" to new levels. Although he's not pushing the issue at the moment, he is a proud supporter of the policies of victim disarmament. Look at the issues he IS talking up in this "campaign"—centralized economic and social planning, rapacious taxation, taxpayer-pays handout programs and international empire- building. It seems as though the "man of the people" is really just another Washington DC paper-pusher, and thus fit to be the Democratic nominee. Even on the points where I tangentially agree with him—bringing the troops home from Iraq—he wants to replace American forces with the UN, as opposed to letting the Iraqis run their own lives. Dennis says he wants to legalize marijuana, but his website makes no mention of jury nullification, or of him using presidential pardons to release those political prisoners already jailed for such "crimes." Instead, he wants to "cure" smokers of their "addiction" using federal force. And his idea of publicly-financed campaigns .... I take it he's willing to tax black and Hispanic voters to pay for the Klan's candidate. (I most certainly am not.) Is there NO aspect of our lives that Dennis won't use federal force to tax and regulate? (By the way, Comrade President George III and the Busheviks are no better—they're just tyrants of a different sort. Is there ANYTHING that THEY won't use the force of government to tax and regulate?) An open letter to libertarian businesses and ISP's Dear Libertarian businessman, I am a libertarian. I believe very strongly that government has no business knowing how I spend my money, on what, or when. To that end, and as difficult as it is to maintain in today's world, I have no bank account, no credit cards, nor do I want any, for any reason. If I want something that I see, I either pay cash for it, or do without, period. I do this for weapons, cars, furniture, every single thing I do. As you can imagine, this has made life difficult in many respects. The ONLY way I can maintain an on-line presence is to use AOL as my ISP. This is very distasteful, for several reasons, not least of which is that my money is supporting a business which hates and fears individual rights. Another is that I am paying twice what many other ISP's charge, for inferior service. Why do I do this? Very simple. As far as I know, AOL is the ONLY ISP which will let you use their service without a credit card. There was one other service which advertised this feature, but come to find out that you didn't need a credit card to use the service, only to sign up for it. The only redeeming feature of this irony is that AOL is making it possible for me to continue my libertarian rants on-line, even though they are also cooperating with federal agencies in investigating me, as well. I find this highly amusing, in a dark sort of way. Mr. libertarian businessman, put your money where your mouth is! I quite knowingly put my butt on the line, using cash for large purchases, KNOWING it put me on a federal watch list. I purchased several weapons at one time, KNOWING it sent a red flag up for the fubbies. At least once a week, the fubbies are tapping my computer, trying to find out who I talk to, and why. It doesn't matter that I have nothing to hide, and would quite cheerfully talk to them in person, they have to snoop, clumsily, to make sure that I am not part of or in contact with any subversive group. It is time for YOU to start taking risks as well. My Internet access is paid for by adding it to my phone bill. Either make the same option possible for YOUR service, or if you wish, make a monthly billing option available. Hells, I would gladly pay several months in advance, to ANY libertarian or Second Amendment friendly ISP, especially since it would almost HAVE to be cheaper than AOHELL. If we are going to preach that we have to get outside the 'cashless economy' system, you have to make it possible, too. Sincerely,
Bush Took My Job, Killed My Sons Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind. I lost my job this past year. When Clinton was president I was secure and prosperous, but in the last year, we had to close our operations. We simply could not compete with foreign labor. This foreign labor worked for low pay under very bad conditions. They worked very long shifts, and many even died on the job. This competition could hardly be called "fair." I was forced out of the place where I had worked for 34 years. Not a single government program was there to help me. How can Bush call himself "compassionate?" Far worse, I lost two of my sons in Bush's evil war in Iraq. They gave their lives for their country, and for what? So that Bush's oil buddies can get rich. My pain of losing my sons is indescribable. While it is trivial next to the loss of my sons, I regret to say that I also lost my home. I simply have nothing left. How can Bush call himself a Christian when he neglects people like me? I am a senior citizen with various medical problems. I'm not in a position where I can begin a new career. I was reduced to the point where I had to live in a hole in a ground, all because of President Bush. And when the authorities found me there, did they have any compassion for my misfortune and ailments? No, I was arrested. Mr. Bush, I dare you to look me in the face and tell me you are a compassionate man! I dare you to look me in the face and tell me you are a Christian! If I had any money left, I would donate it to the Democrat Party. If Al Gore had been elected in 2000 I would still have a job, a home, and most importantly, my dear sons! Regards,
