To End War, Prepare For Peace
by L. Neil Smith
On the other side of the economic, geopolitical, and military
mess we find ourselves in right now (provided, of course, that we survive
it), certain things that we have done routinely as a civilizationor
that have been done to all of usmust be changed, radically and

Getting It
by A.X. Perez
For those of you who are too young to remember, Brown v.
Board of Education shocked the segregationist South in ways unimaginable

in TLE #474 has stirred-up some controversy. He raises, as usual, a very
good question: "Okay, do we want freedom, or do we want politics?

Personal Judgement
by A.X. Perez
If you make enough midnight runs to the store or ATM you
are inviting trouble. That still doesn't change the need to run these errands.
Some risks, like drunk or sleepy drivers only require alertness and the judgement
to know whether to speed up, slow down, or swerve right or left. Hopefully you
are awake enough (and sober enough) to have these qualities.
