Utah Lawmakers Propose M1911 As Official State Gun
State lawmakers are debating whether to designate a semiautomatic pistol as the official gun of Utah, despite protests from people who believe it's inappropriate because of recent mass shootings.

The bill to make the Browning M1911 the official gun breezed through a committee hearing this week and is scheduled to be debated by the full House as early as Wednesday.

I can't make this up

The Senate of the State of Texas has passed a bill requiring that people pass picture ID to vote. It will almost certainly be condemned by a variety of leftist groups, especially "Chicano Rights" groups. Guess it depends on how you feel about the graveyard vote.

Meanwhile, the point of this missive, one of the ID's that will be accepted is a concealed carry license. Okay, so you're going to tell someone you know goes about armed they can't vote?

Of course, we should pressure Congress and state legislatures to pass Constitutional carry, admitting that laws restricting the carry of weapons are unconstitutional and thus null and void. Until then, I guess that if you can't get out of getting a CCL, using it as a picture ID to vote is a good way to get some use out of the dang thing.

Please note that I am not saying that this is a reason to get such a piece of paper. I am arguing that if for whatever reason you could not get out of getting such a thing, you should use it as picture ID at every opportunity. This will upset the digestion of the enemies of freedom who see it and encourage the friends of freedom who are concerned they stand alone.
