In reading L. Neil Smith's recent essay on dumping the GOP in the harbour, it occurs to me to suggest that space enthusiasts in the freedom community begin pushing for an end to NASA as the starting place for budget cuts.

Neil wrote, "They can begin with illegal agencies unsanctioned by Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, such as FEMA, the EPA, OSHA, the Department of Homeland Security, the TSA, the FBI, NSA, and the CIA.

"Yes, and NASA, too."

So, let's start with NASA. Everything that is wrong with the government generally is wrong with NASA in particular. It is crowded with busy-working bureau-rats who watch the clock, put in their time and slime like bored porn actresses, and get out of the office as fast as they can. It promulgates idiotic regulations. NASA interferes constantly with the free market, attacking entrepreneurs and start-up companies for the benefit of their cronies in the big defence contractor companies like GE, Lockheed, Boeing, and Westinghouse.

NASA is evil. Everything NASA does turns to shit.

So let's get real and tell the budget cutters that the place to start cutting is with the space program. Let's have NASA's budget taken to zero. NASA has failed, again and again, since its charter was updated in 1988 to make one of its primary purposes the human settlement of space, to do anything except stand in the way of companies and individuals seeking to settle, or even tour, space. So it is time to destroy NASA once and for all.

It is time to fire the NASA administrator and all of his minions. It is time to shut down all the field centres. It is time to close every NASA office, return the land to the universities which donated it, sell off all the equipment to the private sector, and put on trial every NASA bureau-rat involved in the launch failure of Challenger in 1986 and the deaths of the astronauts on Columbia in 2003.

The savings are about $20 billion a year, plus whatever cost the other government agencies provide in supporting idiotic NASA projects.

His 1990 venture to offer a sweepstakes trip into space was destroyed by government action as was his free port and prospective space port in Somalia in 2001. His 2002-2007 venture in free market money and private stock exchange was destroyed by government action in 2007. He's going to Mars if he has to walk. His second book, Being Sovereign is now availble from Lulu and Amazon. He is currently working on a book about travel to Mars with John Wayne Smith, a book with international fugitive Chad Z.
