Deja Boob
by L. Neil Smith
Well, here we go again, dear readers, with the same old "long
train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evincing a
design to reduce them [that means you and me] under absolute despotism" that we've
been suffering for more than half a century. Bill of Rights? What's that? Individual
liberty? What's that? If most "progressives", in and out of government, had their
way, we'd all be outfitted with mechanical hearts that the police could shut off
remotely.

The Only Defense is a Good Offense
by Boris Karpa
I am, sadly speaking, the inhabitant of a country which has—by every
sensible measure—absolutely draconian gun control. I am not eligible for a permit, and if
I were, the mightiest weapon I could get would be a single pistol and 50 rounds of ammunition
(rifles are restricted to sportsmen who train for two years). I have written extensively—in
American and Israeli media—on the subject on gun control, and am even now making an effort
to set up a gun rights organization in Israel.

List of Republican Cuts—Wow, Can You Believe This?

Notice S.S. and the military are NOT on this list. These are all the programs

Europe and the Iraq War
by Sean Gabb
Note: It was the Iraq War that prompted me into public dissent from the
orthodox rightist line on the European Union. I have never accepted that membership of the
EU is an attack by weasily foreigners on our free institutions, and that leaving it would
give us a reasonably accountable government with low taxes and the common law. The truth
appears to be that we are utterly corrupt as a nation, and British membership is more a
symptom of what we have become than its cause. I don't see the hand of Europe in the
transformation of the police into cowardly thugs, or the universal degradation of our
politics and culture. Even very bad things like the European Arrest Warrant are not
applied in other European Union countries with the same wooden stupidity as in Britain.
In Germany, for instance, it is still not legal for citizens or even residents to be
extradited for trial elsewhere.

Cops Are Old-Tech Drones
by Paul Bonneau
I was having a conversation with a friend, similar to many
conversations these days, about all the recent fuss over drones, and then later
touched on cops. He had been threatened (assaulted actually) for no reason, as
is commonplace. Later as I was driving it struck me how similar cops are to drones.

Suppose You Were Fond of Books...
by L. Neil Smith
Suppose you were fond of books... You liked their leather bindings,
their fancy endpapers, the way they speak to you of other times and places, the way
they feel in your hand. You even liked the way they smell. Naturally you were aware
that books are dangerous. They give people ideas. Over the long, sad course of history,
they've resulted in the slaughter of millions—books like Uncle Tom's Cabin,
Das Kapital, Mein Kampf, the Quran, even the Bible—but you had too
much intelligence, too much regard for the right of other people to read, write, and
think whatever they please, to blame the books themselves.

Neale's New Weekly Gun Rant
by Neale Osborn
I have decided to end the week letting my mind wander over the various
news-bits from the Victim Disarmament media, politicians and their latest shenanigans, and
anything else gun related I think of. This first one will go whither I wish. Future additions
may evolve. Or not.
