My 2016 Endorsement
(The Feature Article)

Wicked Witch!
"I'll get you, Theodore! You and your little dog Rubio!"

I do have a Presidential endorsement in mind,
a recommendation, as it were, for the LP that
I'm confident they won't follow.

Because They Made It About Guns
by A.X. Perez
A while back our publisher wrote an article entitled "Why Did It Have to Be Guns?" The article explained why he was a single issue voter; if a candidate was pro-gun He enjoyed L. Neil Smith's support, if he was anti-gun our publisher opposed him. Last December Barrack Obama announced that he would not support any candidate for office unless they support what he considers to be "common sense gun control." If I remember correctly, as a sitting President who is a member of the Democratic Party, Mr. Obama is the leader of the Democratic Party. Therefor if you are running for office as a Democrat you are bound by Party loyalty to support:

A Hard Rain: Book Review of Neal Stephenson's seveneves
by Jim Davidson
Editorial comment from the author: You are reading a book review. I'm going to discuss aspects of a book you may wish to read. Reading this book review may cause you to know things about what happens in the book before you read it. If you don't want to be contaminated with such knowledge, stop reading here. The title is clear that this document is a book review. It is now your responsibility to choose whether or not to read it. Sending me more death threats because I've written a book review isn't going to deter me from writing more book reviews nor does it absolve you of the responsibility to choose whether to read this essay. kthx

Thoughts on the European Referendum: A Personal Attempt at Clarity
by Sean Gabb
Because of its charitable status, the Libertarian Alliance takes no view of the European Referendum set for the June of 2016. This is, then, more than usually not an ex cathedra statement. It is purely an expression of what I think. For anyone who is interested, and has no inclination to read my justifications, I will say now that I will vote to leave the European Union. This is notwithstanding the views that I have lately expressed regarding the nature and benefits of our actual membership. I now proceed to my justifications.

The Wrong Donald Trump
by J. Neil Schulman
As I write this Monday February 22, 2016, tomorrow evening is the Nevada caucus. As a Nye County voter still registered as a Republican from the last presidential election when I was a delegate for Ron Paul, I could caucus if I wished to. If I did, the only Republican candidate I could have seriously considered is businessman Donald J. Trump. Unfortunately, businessman Donald J. Trump is not running for president. The man who has been campaigning for the GOP nomination for president is a body-snatcher politician who has taken over Donald J. Trump's voice.

EDITORIAL MATTERS

I see tomorrow (Monday the 29th) is Extra-Day day. Think of all those lucky kids born tomorrow who will only have a birthday every four years (except in years ending in 00 unless evenly divisable by 400 or whatever that rule is). I remember once writing a bit of software to keep all that stuff correct for "what day is 30-days from today?" calculations. Alas with the OS in use at that time, the query "what year is it" only returned two digits. Uh oh. Fortunately I retired before having to fix all that. And the OS only used a 24-bit memory address!
