For the past few years, I have written several essays in response to various conservatives’ false claim that America is a “Christian country”. Rather than reiterate what I said then, I would ask the curious reader to consult with Thomas Paine or Haym Solomon about that, to remember that Thomas Jefferson’s handful of pronouncements on God are clearly metaphorical, and that Benjamin Franklin belonged to an organization whose members dedicated themselves to violating every one of the Ten Commandments.

Golly! Next Sunday is Christmas Day. Generally our practice has been to take off the week of Christmas and in other words, no issue next week. Which means Issue 904 will be out January 1, 2017!

We have been doing this thing here a long time now. And we plan to keep doing it until we simply can not continue. At which point I suppose we will pass it on to a future generation, if any.

Pizzagate. Somebody called “Deplorable Melissa” asked of somebody called “Megyn Kelly” (I don't watch TV’s so-called “news” so I don’t know who these people are... nor do I care to know, ’cause, ya-know, Some Things Man was Not Meant to Know, and stuff.) Where was I? Oh yeah, she asks questions a real journalist (which we have very few of these days) would have asked:
