"Gun control is the idea that it’s better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand."—T.D. Melrose

The Perils of Milo
by L. Neil Smith
and Giovanni Martelli
Milo Yiannopoulos is a young man of parts. He is decidedly British. His name is decidedly Greek. His mother was Jewish. He was brought up Roman Catholic. He is flamboyantly, explosively gay, a Second Amendment enthusiast, and a libertarian-leaning conservative (or a conservative-leaning libertarian; the situation seems to be fluid) in the best American sense. He is a remarkably well-educated and articulate former editor at Breitbart.com., and a passionate supporter of Donald Trump (whom he calls “Daddy”). Big, straight guys write kiddingly that they want to have his baby. (He had me when he told a young snowflake in the audience that he didn’t give a damn about her feelings.) He is also the best standup comedian and social critic—a worthy successor to Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, and George Carlin—that I have seen in a long time. I would probably have written about him eventually, simply as a nifty phenomenon.

A Conversation with an Entrepreneur
by Jim Davidson
The practicalities of due diligence are that I like to see everything, read everything, inspect all the arithmetic, examine the code, and evaluate every aspect of the business. It is my job, I believe, to be thorough, and to present to investors a detailed analysis that I can stand behind. I do not wish to encounter surprises after I am ready to speak to investors, because I want to be completely informed.

To the Mainstream Media
by Sean Gangol
Boy, have you guys done it now. I thought it was bad when you brown-nosed Obama for the past eight years. None of it compares to the way you guys have pandered to Queen Hillary. You guys sold whatever you had left of your journalistic integrity down the river to get your queen elected. How did that work out for you? None of this comes as any surprise to me. I have known for a long time that you guys have acted more as a mouth piece for the left, than an actual news outlet. This has been pretty evident to both conservatives and libertarians for decades.

Notes From New Zealand
by Nic Leobold
New Zealand looks small on a map, but just like most geography, it feels really big. And because New Zealand is at the end of the world, compared to everywhere else, you often feel like this is the end of the world.

But it isn’t the end, of anything.

That Was Then, This Is Now: Reclaiming The Point-Of-Origin
by Don Templeton
Once upon a time in the Universe just next door… This isn’t just some whimsical statement I cooked up so I could copy Star Wars or something. I mean what it says. What it says is that our tales take place in the Universe right next door. This universe is almost exactly like ours. But it’s different in little ways. In the story Universe, the giant squid still has not been observed alive at depth in its natural habitat. In our Universe, this has occurred. A Japanese scientist used a robot sub with a video camera and caught a live giant squid in the act.

If They Take Milo Down, You’re Next
by Sarah Hoyt
I’ve spent the last day and a half in dread, looking at the coordinated attack on Milo, and the debacle on the right. As someone who was never-Trump before it was cool, and who only capitulated because she was never-Hillary more, and an anti-communist from the time she could understand the word, I felt divided when people piled on on never-trumpers. But this is ridiculous and has passed all bounds of civilized behavior.

Eugenics: Blast from Brave New Worlds Past
by Jeff Fullerton
Was having an intellectual discussion on a web article on Progressivism's Parade of horrors when I remembered an old biology text from the 1950s I have on hand. Probably a school book that belonged to my mother or one of her sibs. It was from a time when America had been served refresher on all the wonderful things the generation of Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt wanted to do by one of the enemies we had just defeated in World War 2.

Defending Discrimination & Deportation
by J. Neil Schulman
In his most famous speech Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke in favor of discrimination. What, Neil? I’m a writer. Words are what we writers use to communicate. I’m using words to communicate with you right now. So the defined meanings of the words we use matter because differences matter.

Paths to Freedom
by Jim Davidson
One of the great delights for an author or futurist or fan of some particular genre is to be among people who “get it.” One of the reasons that I’ve always enjoyed science fiction conventions, including very small and very large ones, is that it isn’t hard to find myself amongst people who understand quite a few of the things I like to hear about or talk about. There is a sense in which the reality we seek is “painted on the walls” so that everyone already assumes a common understanding.

Repealnreplace
by L. Neil Smith
If you happen to be old enough, did you notice, back in the days when the Soviet Union was breaking into pieces and the Berlin Wall was coming down, just how rapidly all of the world’s joyous shouting about freedom was smudged by the treacherous left-wing media into maundering about democracy?

TOP KEK: The Best of the Internet, 17-24 February 2017
by Giovanni Martelli
Hi folks, and welcome to another week of Top Kek, where we take a look at the best (and stupidest) of the internet. This week we’ll be spending some time with the Very Fake News, which has been making its presence clearly known. A little about me, before we begin: 27. I identify as a border wall. Anti-war, anti-SJW. #FreeKekistan. Banned on Twitter by George Takei.
