In an era when government takes too much
away from us already, why the bloody hell
should it be allowed to steal more?

You know, I did not think The Crazy Years would be this crazy! I mean, sheesh!
You would think they are trying to control which opinions we hear (snort):
Facebook Censored Me and I'm Not the Only One
Facebook's campaign against “fake news” is having
unsettling effects on what it does and does not consider newsworthy.
by James Bovard
Responding to Russian-funded political advertisements, Facebook
chairman Mark Zuckerberg declared last month that “we will do
our part to defend against nation states attempting to spread
misinformation.” But Facebook is effectively sowing
disinformation by kowtowing to foreign regimes and censoring
atrocities such as ethnic cleansing in Myanmar. In the name of
repressing fake news and hate speech, Facebook is probably
suppressing far more information than Americans realize.

5 Things Marx Wanted to Abolish (Besides Private Property)
We all know Marx wanted to get rid of private property, but
he was remarkably frank about wanting to abolish these things, too.
by Jon Miltimore
One of the remarkable things about The Communist
Manifesto is its honesty.
Karl Marx might not have been a very good guy, but he was
refreshingly candid about the aims of Communism. This brazenness, one
could argue, is baked into the Communist psyche.
“The Communists disdain to conceal their views and
aims,” Marx declared in his famous manifesto. “They
openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible
overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes
tremble at a Communistic revolution.”

And what are those 5 things? They are: The Family, Individuality, Eternal Truths, Nations, and The Past. Kind of like what the Slavers and other Enemies of Freedom are going on about today.

Big Brother! BIG! Brother!:
This artificial intelligence may start tracking you soon
by Lauren Tousignant
It’s already 1984 in China.
For the last year, the people of Hangzhou, China—a city of
more than nine million—have had every moment of their lives tracked.
“City Brain,” an artificial intelligence system
that interlinks with a city’s infrastructure was installed in
October 2016, through a partnership with Alibaba and Foxconn.
In an effort to optimize Hangzhou and make urban life easier,
the system tracked everything from robberies to traffic jams and
learned the city’s unique patterns and needs.
Residents were also tracked through their activity on social
media. Their commutes, purchases, interactions and movements were all
learned and absorbed by the AI database.

Isn’t that … special?
Enough gloom and doom! And foom and poom! for that matter. The founder of Wikipedia, who has been complaining ever since about how it has been taken over by Politicial Correctors instead of being factual and accurate. That guy. He has a new project going called WikiTribune. Intended to be a news source that is factual and accurate but not Politically Correcting:

Welcome to WikiTribune, a pilot project for a new approach to
journalism where the community is at the center. This is not a news
service—yet. It’ll only be the news service I envisage when
you play a full role.

It will be interesting to see if he can keep the Social Justices and Political Correctors out of the mix. We shall see.
Was that worth reading?
