The Libertarian Party and Taxation is Theft

Re: What Would Real Tax Reform Look Like? by L. Neil Smith

Quoth L. Neil Smith:

To summarize, then:
Taxation is theft.
Taxation is slavery.
Taxation is the fuel of war.

The disgusting and cowardly failure of the so-called Libertarian Party, to point this out, or to dedicate itself from its founding moment to ending the evil practice of taxation, is a principal reason why it hasn’t gotten anywhere substantial in over four decades. Queen Isabella of Spain vowed to eliminate chattel slavery, although it took 350 years. Why can’t the movement of the future be as daring and consistent as a 15th century Spanish monarch?

Point of Inquiry to the chair of the Libertarian National Committee, at the 2016 Libertarian National Convention:

From the minutes of the 2016 Libertarian National Convention:

Jim Fulner (MI) moved that we adopt the following resolution: “Be it resolved, taxation is theft.” Following debate, the resolution was adopted by a voice vote.

To which L. Neil Smith replied:

That's very good. We all owe thanks to Jim. However, I served on two national platform committees, featuring some big stars (Rothbard, for one) that refused to condemn taxation.

Re: Space Cadets—For a Libertarian Future! by L. Neil Smith

Space Patrol to pick up and clear away orbiting space “junk,” L Neil?

No, sir. Commercial Space Salvagers to pick up orbiting historical treasures to be put at auction on Christies and Sothebies today—and the auction houses on Luna, Mars, and various O'Neill Habitats, tomorrow.

Just like yesterday's nuclear "waste" is tomorrow's reprocessed nuclear fuel, today's space junk is tomorrow's reaction mass that doesn't need to be lifted above earth's gravity well, precious metals, historical artifacts, and all sorts of other handy uses for the creative pioneer.

Letter from A.X. Perez

Gimme Aspirin

Sometimes the Left manages to leave me slack jawed with disbelief. Take last week’s Editor’s notes in TLE. This is the second time I have seen claims that teaching mathematics is racist or at least bolsters racism. Both have especially argued that requiring kids to learn math, or at least the pedagogy used in teaching it is Anti Latino racism.

For years I have been told that students in Mexico are taught geometry in Sixth grade by people who went to school in Mexico and had or were taking it again as high school sophomores in the US. I guess wasting these kids time this way in Mexico is racist.

Luis Walter Alvarez earned a Nobel prize in physics and later was one of the men who developed the Dinosaur Killer Asteroid Hypothesis, which is now considered proven. He did other influential work as a physicist and engineer, including work in the US’s WWII nuclear arms project. Considering the role mathematics plays in physics and engineering. Damn the racists who oppressed him into this life of accomplishment by forcing him to learn math.

The movie Stand and Deliver is a mostly true story regarding Jaime Escalante’s success in helping his students pass the National AP High School Calculus Test. Rather it celebrated the students’ success and Escalante’s role in assisting them. That race traitor monster!

I could go on and on about how Latinos have succeeded in math and how math has helped Latinos succeed in life. I could go on and on about how it helps people of all races build better lives, as in getting good paying. However, I won’t. What I will say is that those who claim requiring minority students to master mathematics is racist are themselves the racist monsters keeping young “people of color in ‘their place.’”
