“Gun control is the idea that it’s better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand.”—T.D. Melrose

If you have something …you can bet that
somebody, somewhere is trying to figure out
how to appropriate, expropriate, steal, or
simply take it away from you. And most of those
schemers will be college professors and politicians.

Bernie Sanders Wants You Dead
by L. Neil Smith
Sometime in the late 1950s, when I was ten or twelve years old, there was a program on the radio called “What We Must Know About Communism”, apparently an audio treatment of a book of the same name by Harry and Bonaro Overstreet, covering the entire subject from Hegelian dialecticism through the Korean War. I listened to it faithfully. My father was a career Air Force officer deeply involved in Cold War nuclear deterrent efforts like Strategic Air Command and North East Air Command and it was very important to me to understand the struggle that had become the raison d’etre for my family’s lives.

Free Market Money
by Jim Davidson
The time continues to be a good time to end the money issue power monopoly of the evil psychopaths who run central banks like the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, and the European Central Bank. These banking gangsters finance endless wars for the profit of their cronies and they make everyone else miserable. The best way to end their monopoly is to work on or make use of free market money alternatives. And the best way to make rich people regret their behaviours is to cause them to become poor people, as Eddy Murphy noted in Trading Places.

Vows
by Sarah A. Hoyt
Humans are imperfect and transitory beings. Our moods, attachments and directions, often change. You don’t even need to scan the Ashley Madison ranks for that. You just need to go to your local craigslist “Lovely puppy, two years old, moving in with boyfriend who doesn’t want him. Free to a good home.” (The ones who try to get rid of their elderly pets? Those I want to shoot. We have gone through this six times now, seeing a cat down to that final spiral, trying to keep them as comfortable as possible and give them as much love as possible because it’s going to be a long time before we see them again—yeah, I do know what theologians say. I don’t believe them. Souls on the order of a human, no. Able to partake their humans redemption? I believe so. Otherwise Himself is not a gentleman—and OMG cleaning up stuff where they forget where the box is. We’re going through this with an 18 yo now, and when he goes we have two not very far behind. But they’re family members. More importantly, they’re bonded to you and your family. In this case, the vow is not spoken, but is there. Upending their little world at the end? Putting them in the hands of strangers who almost for sure won’t have our patience? People who do that are SCUM.)

The Continuing Fall of Social Media: Update
by Sean Gangol
I was going to write the update on the original article, but so much has happened since then that I decided to write a separate article. I have heard many on the right, which includes the staff of Breitbart.com and Tucker Carlson, calling for the regulation of Google, Facebook and just about any other social media platform like we do any other utility. It”s not to say that I don”t know where they are coming from, but I still believe that begging the government for more regulations is by far the worst course of action that one could possibly take.

Jerome and His Women
Review by Richard Blake
This novel explores the background to one of the most important events in history. When Constantine established Christianity as the preferred state religion in 313, he was saving Western civilisation. Until then, the religious settlement in the Roman Empire was divided both vertically and horizontally. The vertical division marked off the educated elite. For those at the top, the pagan cults were approaches to the concept of a Supreme Being and a universal moral law. Those at the bottom took these cults at face value, with their alarming or simply scandalous mythologies, and their frequent lack of mutual sympathy.

Tiny Mind On A Tiny Planet
by L. Neil Smith
I was strolling along, innocently enough, through various threads on Facebook, when I stumbled across a heated argument about UFOs, alien visitations, and related subjects between some of my favorite people in the world and some of my least favorite. One individual, somewhere in the middle, who would want me to mention his name, opined in a much longer message, that “…most species are smart enough to realize that space travel—especially interstellar—is a waste of energy and will never provide enough to be worthwhile …” Enough of what, he didn’t say, but I couldn’t help responding to this unique combination of telepathy on his part, and mental constipation…
