Once More, With Thinking
(The Feature Article)
Twenty Years Later!
Once More, With Thinking
by L. Neil Smith
It’s entirely possible that I explain myself too much at
times; it annoys me when I have to do it. It means I didn’t do my job right
(mostly I have always thought of myself as a teacher who had to construct his
own classroom) in the first place. Unlike a public school teacher, no one is
obliged to attend my classes or listen to what I say. That just makes it more
challenging.

It is Fated
by Sarah A. Hoyt
For various reasons, but mostly because it’s now saleable
and I have tens of thousands of words in unfinished stories, I went grubbing
about in the old Austen fanfic sites for my stuff. (Remembering the names I
used was harder.)

My Predictions for the Mid-Term Elections
by Sean Gangol
Maybe I am being a little premature by making predictions
about the Mid-Term Elections that will be held this November, but I
personally believe that it will not go the way the democrats expect it to go.
The democrats are hoping that they can take back the house in November in the
same way that the republicans did in 2010, after Obama had been elected two
years earlier. Since the Mid-Term Elections have historically had such low
turnouts, it gives momentum to the party that received losses during the
presidential election. Though I think that they are going to run into a
little obstacle that is going to put their assured victory in jeopardy. What
obstacle? Themselves.

Mysteries of the Socialist “Mind”
by L. Neil Smith
For an individual supposedly sporting a bachelor’s degree
in economics and “international relations” (whatever the hell that is),
Congressional wannabe and Democratic Socialist wunderkind Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez seems to know very little about either. Asked about economics,
for example, the crazy-eyed cutie immediately falls back on the worst kind of
Marxo-Keynesian garbage, and, frustrated by her grievous failings in the
foreign policy category, throws up her hands and giddily confesses to a total
ignorance of the subject.

In Praise of Jeff Bezos
by Sean Gabb
According to a report on the BBC website, Jeff Bezos, the founder of
Amazon, is the richest man in the world, with an alleged personal fortune of £113bn. The usual suspects
have raised their arms in outrage at the news. Oxfam drew fresh attention to its report
from 2017, in which it called “for a fundamental change in the way
we manage our economies so that they work for all people, and not just a fortunate few.…”

What Are Your Children Reading?
by L. Neil Smith
Or your grandchildren? Do you lament the lack of good
stories and adventures like they had when you were a kid? There’s a reason
for that: modern, politically correct theories among publishers and “educators”.
