Attribute to L. Neil Smith’s The Libertarian Enterprise

Was hoping to have the belated Summer going into Fall edition out this weekend after the disasterville last one involving a problem with my device that led me to defer publication for that and a few other reasons. However this week has been a busy one with more interesting developments worthy of inclusion and even make for a better article than what has more or less been a focus on the Florida Room and aside from a power outage one night that thankfully happened in warm weather there has not been much in the way of weather related Drama. No scary severe weather locally and no hurricanes like the two that passed through drenching the Dry Belt last September making it a rather boring season in that regard. It was not until the previous week when I shifted to the prospect of getting the house and my heating system ready for winter that my situation and the weather got more interesting. I will cover that in the main article I hope to have published by next issue. As for the week it has been busy like I said with a major DIY repair on the cellar door that has already changed the thermal dynamic of my basement bad house for the better. And some help from Bruce the Historian in getting the outside furnace that we decommissioned a couple years ago (see article from late fall of 2017) up and running again.

And there is guarded hope that my transition back to living full time in my own place again and into winter will be smoother than initially feared. So far so good.

Last night was the big transition from summer into fall with temps falling into the 40s. I ran the inside (oil fired) furnace for the second time this season and it worked well. By morning it was maintaining a comfy 70 degrees in the living room and the furnace was idle. It also looks like the turning point where I stop feeding the outside turtles which were already in the process of hunkering down when I gave Bruce a tour of the place after we had finished with some plumbing modifications and got a fire lit in the Mahoning. That will lighten the load and free up time for dealing with the other issues of Crunch Time that is now beginning.

Another halcyon summer comes to an end.

My gut feeling is that the coming winter and the season that comes after will be interesting.
