Attribute to L. Neil Smith’s The Libertarian Enterprise

It is my recent understanding that the tiny-minded, mealy-mouthed Junior Communists of Orange County, California are planning to rip the distinguished name of John Wayne from the international airport there because the man doesn’t have a statue you barbarians and vandals can tear down, deface and throw in the river. The charge against a dead man who can’t defend himself, as usual, is “racism”.

John Wayne was absolutely nothing if not a man of his times who believed and articulated pretty much what everybody else in his times believed and articulated. His attitude was understandable. The nation’s cities were in ashes, torched by pretty much the same class of miscreants who are burning and looting them today. John Wayne was a complex individual (Are you surprised he played championship-level chess on the set between takes?) who obviously believed that there are decent and intelligent people of color, just as there are whites who are dim-witted and thuggish … like you. Your latterday effort to try to blame John Wayne retroactively because, in the 20th century, he failed to believe and articulate what most people have struggled for half a century to believe and articulate in the 21st is, at the least and most charitable, dishonest. And at the most, corrupt, deceitful, and repulsively mendacious. In the words of my generation, as Randy Quaid might put it, you are lying shits.

The plain truth is this: it is for everything good that John Wayne taught my generation about honesty and courage—virtues that you have a vested interest in stamping out among us, as you have the generations that followed ours—that you’re attempting to destroy a great man’s memory, using his alleged racism as camouflage. For what it’s worth, John Wayne also taught us the signal importance of being prepared to defend ourselves from misbegotten degenerates like you. We cling to our guns—and you hate that.

In his many motion pictures, John Wayne—a “bigot” who married three Hispanic women and whose production company was filled with people of all colors—always presented individuals of other races with respect, dignity, and humor. His treatment of Indians in particular (yes, I actually wrote the hated word that white leftists can’t abide, the word that the people in question actually call themselves)—as the “honored enemy” who often needed to be defended from government fools and outright criminals—puts the lie to everything you say about him. I get it. You are incapable of understanding the concept of the “honored enemy” because you are incapable of understanding the concept of honor.

You aren’t fooling anybody, you know. Nobody believes that your party came by political control of the nation’s reddest county fair and square. I predicted in early 2017 that future academic studies would eventually reveal that Hillary Clinton only appeared to carry the day in 2016 and win the popular vote for President because of Democrat vote thievery, mostly in California. I’m highly gratified to observe that process already beginning to unfold. Understand, too, what everybody else in the world understands: if those who presemtly run Disneycorp suddenly found themselves on fire, Walter Elias Disney wouldn’t cross the street to piss them out.

When you can explain to me how John Wayne is to be condemned and his existence scrubbed from cultural history for what he didn’t know, while the stumble-tongued zombie you are trying to ram down our throats as President was good buddies and did business with some of worst racist pogues in American history, then I might stop exposing you as the shambling droolers that you are.

And I might not.
