Number 1,086, September 27, 2020

By genetics and disposition, I have a dream
of going out as I came in: screaming and
covered in someone else’s blood. I’m saying
the time is not yet. I’m saying now is the
time to prepare on all fronts.

If someone eats a whole can of Pringles at once, is it a snack, or a meal? Or perhaps a side dish? Asking for a friend.

Related, How to Make a Burrito:

You know, after the patients take over the insane isalum, they get really violent if the sane people try to reassert control.

Speaking of which thing, Sarah Hoyt has two articles in this issue discussing that very thing, and how we need to deal with it. Go read ’em. You’ll be glad you did.

After my daughter showed me how to stream tv-shows and movies, I have watched several movies, and watched “re-runs” of some of my favorite tv-shows: Eurika, and Warehouse 13, watched all of the new The Tick, and now running though the old Longmire while working my way to the new ones I have not seen. I was under the impression that my slow-assed DSL would not work, whereas it actually does work, at least most of the time, occasionally it gets into trouble, but not all that often. I am very pleased. Of course, I had to run coax from the router in the office to the living room, wi-fi did not work as well or as often. Alas, when I bought a high-resolution download of an album of one of my favorite symphonies, it took one heck of a long time to get those ~3.5-gigabytes. I should have settled on the CD-quality download. Oh well. And even those take an awfully long time themselves. Only slightly longer and I can just mail-order the CD from Amazon.com. Well, almost. Heh.

I even tried running my cheap little Chinese smart phone in “wi-fi hotspot” mode, but it was not any faster than the DSL. Rats. One more good thing about moving-in with my kids is they all have fast, fast internet. I think I would like fast, fast internet. Yes, I think I would.

In other gnews, the shit-storm over the new supreme court judge is running along like I figured it would. Kind of funny, actually. Those crazy folks are so predictable, just push this button, get that response. Every time. Clockwork.

Go read Mrs. Hoyt’s articles for insights into that.

And do stay deplorable, my friends.

Was that worth reading?
