Call for Articles

A Call for Articles: NYSR&P v. Bruen: What's Next?

The Supreme Court's decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen has got the usual hoplophobic suspects, um, up in arms. https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/20-843_7j80.pdf What's the libertarian view of it? The Libertarian Enterprise will run a special issue on the question of NYSR&P v. Bruen: What's Next?

We would like to see legal and historical analyses, as well as some though on what issues should Second Amendment advocates pursue now? What does Bruen not address that we should take up next?

Bruen deals with one aspect of concealed carry permit laws. Are concealed carry permit laws even constitutional? What do state constitutions say about them?

This is, after all, L. Neil Smith's The Libertarian Enterprise. As is our custom, we will have a Blast from the Past: L. Neil Smith on the Atlanta Declaration, which says, "Every man, woman, and responsible child has an unalienable individual, civil, Constitutional, and human right to obtain, own, and carry, openly or concealed, any weapon—rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—any time, any place, without asking anyone's permission." https://ncc-1776.org/tle2019/tle1028-20190707-02.html

Deadline for Submissions: Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Queries are welcome. Publication date, August 7, 2022.

"Do you think the members of your party are ready to select a brown man?" is the sort of thing one might expect of the Ku Klux Klan. Nope, it is from the identarian left. The British identarian left. And in this case, selecting a "brown man" for prime minister. Formerly Great Britain has gone from "Gunga Din" to this. Disgusting.

Last week Eric Oppen listed some things the pro-abortion movement should stop doing to get better traction. Jonathan Turley details an example.

Writers must be paid. Disney owes some writers money.

How the West made an economic own goal.

Wow, trust in the government "education" system is much lower than I suspected!

Pete Shields, the founder of Handgun Control, Inc., wrote that women would determine the future of gun control. Well, Pete, what do you think of this?

Apparently some people haven't read Eric Oppen's advice to abortion activists in last week's TLE.

Ever wonder how much student loan debt do the people calling for student loan forgivness have? Public choice theory vindicated! Sir Humphrey Appleby would approve.
