ur cartoon this week is, of course, a very visual paraphrase of our masthead quote from T. D. Melrose. Neil used to say this often enough that some people got the idea that Neil originated it. He didn't and was gracious enough to correct the record when the opportunity presented itself.

Our motto this week comes from W. Michael Gear's novel Coyote Summer, reviewed in this issue.

L. Neil Smith on how they plan to get your guns and everything else they want. It's not that they particularly want your guns. It's that they don't want you to have them. It sounds like a dystopian novel, doesn't it? A bad dystopian novel.

Alan Bickley is in fine form as he reviews the coronation of Charles III as entertainment, and as a statement on the state of a once great nation. And envisions a future out of V for Vendetta.

Finally, on a more optimistic note, our editor reviews The Morning River and Coyote Summer, two novels (or, really, a novel in two volumes) soon to be republished by Wolfpack Publishing in four volumes.

Events

On August 16 – 19, 2023 Liberty International will host the 37th edition of the annual Liberty International World Conference in Madrid, Spain. This year’s main theme is “Prosperity and Longevity Through Liberty” and will encompass discussions on the past, present, and future challenges faced by the freedom movement and its evolution over time.

This year’s conference will reunite 200+ attendees and 10+ pro-liberty organizations from all around the world in the heart of Madrid at Ateneo de Madrid. The conference´s agenda will include keynote sessions, panel discussions, debates, film screenings and other entertaining activities. In addition, we will have two days of cultural tours around Madrid!
