Such "dangerous" individuals not only hate the government,
but are increasingly unwilling to endure it any further.

Cutting the Root of Tyranny
by L. Neil Smith
A Florida county sheriff is being given a million dollars to violate the rights of the people who were stupid enough to put him in office. According to an article by Palm Beach Post staff writers Dara Kam and Stacey Singer, posted Monday, April 29, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw has been awarded $1 million by Florida House and Senate budget leaders for a new "violence prevention unit aimed at preventing tragedies like those in Newtown, Connecticut and Aurora, Colorado. "We want people to call us if the guy down the street says he hates the government ... " the Big-Brotherly Bradshaw bloviated. "What does it hurt to have somebody knock on a door and ask, 'Hey, is everything OK?'" Since the cops these days do their knocking with a three-foot concrete-filled section of four-inch diameter steel pipe, with welded rebar handles, Bradshaw's stupid question tends to answer itelf. Just what we need: shrinks with guns.

Leviathan's Heel
by John Taylor
On the 20th anniversary of the government's sadistic and excessive slaughter of men, women, and children at their home in Waco, TX, the people of Boston awakened to find an army of occupation had seized and paralyzed their city. Military and paramilitary units from city, state, federal, military, and even neighboring states moved into the streets and neighborhoods of Boston and several adjacent towns, ostensibly to capture two kids—19 and 26—who are accused of being the Boston Marathon bombers.

Neale's Weekly Gun Rant, Volume 8
by Neale Osborn
Senator Toomey, the Republican traitor who worked with the Democrats to try to destroy another chunk of the 2nd Amendment, claims the bill failed because of "Republican politics". I should fucking hope so. The Republicans (and 4 Democrats) stood up for the Constitution, and refused to bow to pressure from anti-Constitutionalists to violate their oaths of office. Stay strong, Republican Senators. Someday, you might grow up to be REAL patriots!!

In Answer to a Comment
by A.X. Perez
The following was written and sent to JPFO in response to a message titled "JPFO Comment: Should Christians Give Up Their Guns??" (BTW their answer was no): Many Christians believe that if they die for their faith or exercising pacifistic Christian principals they will honor G-d and achieve salvation. Sorry, I object to dying. Others believe that theyshould trust in G-d and He will protect them. I am not being a smart Alec when I say G-d has acted to protect me by creating those persons whose genius perfected the design and marketing of the weapons I use to defend myself, loved ones, liberty, and property.

Hiding the Unemployed: Disability and the Politics of Stats

Some statistics cannot be understood without setting them within a political framework because they reflect politics as much as or more than they do reality. The unemployment rate is an example and a cautionary tale.

EDITORIAL MATTERS

A MESSAGE FROM L.NEIL SMITH

I am very sorry to report that I will not be speaking at the national convention of the Republican Liberty Caucus next week in Austin, Texas as I had planned. A number of technical problems and a minor health issue have gotten in the way.

I love Texas, and the spirit of Texas, and I am far more disappointed by this development than anyone who expected to hear me speak. Chairman Dave Nalle assures me that the replacement he has in mind is much more interesting than I am (just kidding), and I'm afraid I have to agree. A special word of thanks to Iris Gaddis, who did her damnedest to make this happen.

As to what I would have said, I will try to have it ready for next weekend's The Libertarian Enterprise, because I believe that it's important. And I will get down to the Texas (as Gene Wilder put it in The Frisco Kid, sooner or later.

Maybe for keeps.
