"Gun control is the idea that it's better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand."—T.D. Melrose

Midsomer Maunderings
by L. Neil Smith
Two years ago, last June 28th, 2014, I think my sanity may have been saved by a British television series, Midsomer Murders. Unbelievably, I had suffered a stroke. My left leg and left arm were paralyzed, and I had difficulty speaking clearly. I was in a local hospital, trapped inside a body that had betrayed me, and it was extremely hard sometimes to get to sleep.

Asking For Terror: France and the u.S.
by Nic Leobold
The recent terror attack in Nice, France and u.S. police killings in America bring up the same point libertarians, voluntaryists and Free Market Anarchists have been pounding the table on for years. All this violence against innocents and government targets appears to be mostly the result of previous massive violence perpetrated by government and the state.

E-Book Round Up: Social Justice Warriors Always Lie
by Sean Gangol
I know that there are at least two reviews of Vox Day‘s Social Justice Warriors Always Lie that have been published by L. Neil Smith's THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE but I decided to put my own two cents in, since I now consider Social Justice Warriors (SJW‘s) to be one of the biggest threats to individual freedom. While I can certainly say that I don‘t agree with Vox Day on every issue, he definitely hit the nail right on the head, when it comes to SJW‘s. In my article, “The Social Justice Trap” I discussed how SJW‘s like to infect and divide every movement that they are able to infiltrate. Sadly, the libertarian movement has been no exception.

Obama's Failure
by Jim Davidson
Recently, president Barack Obama said that police should admit their failures, and that doing so would improve the lives of people in their communities. He said these things to shirk his own personal responsibility for the hundreds of deaths annually by police killing (mostly white male suspects) in the United States while prosecuting Obama's personal wars against the American people: the drug war, the war on terror, the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, the war in Libya, the war in Syria, the war on undocumented working, the war on illegally crossing imaginary boundaries, and every other war that he not only gleefully prosecutes but that he has been paid to wage on us, in enormous campaign contributions and will be paid with speaking fees and other direct payments beginning in 2017 by the military contractor companies, giant pharmaceutical conglomerates, prisons for profit industry, and enormous banking and insurance companies.

What about the Workers? A Libertarian Answer
by Sean Gabb
I was called this morning by the BBC. It wanted me to comment on the claims that Sports direct, a chain of sports clothing shops, mistreats its workers—keeping them on zero-hours contracts, sometimes not paying them even the minimum wage, scaring them out of going sick, generally treating them like dirt. Would I care to go on air to defend the right of employers to behave in this way? I am increasingly turning down invitations to go on radio and television, and this was an invitation I declined. I suggested the researcher should call the Adam Smith Institute. This would almost certainly provide a young man to rhapsodise about the wonders of the free market. My own answer would be too complex for the average BBC presenter to understand, and I might be cut off in mid-sentence.

Deadly Assault Trucks
by Andrew Hansis
If only one child's life can be saved… it will all be worth it… right? In light of the recent and horrific terrorist attack in Nice, France there must be something done immediately to eliminate the deadly weapon utilized from the streets of the United States, no, the world. This depraved person used a large high speed multi-ton truck to kill and injure over a hundred innocent people who had gathered to celebrate. The driver, who was shot and killed by Police armed with guns, was most likely just a mentally deranged man of no particular religious or political belief who just need a hug and better access to mental health care. It was the trucks fault after all, not the human behind the wheel.

Obama: "It's easier to get a Glock than a book…."
by Mike Blessing
When addressing the assembled mourners in Dallas, Barry Obama said the following: It's easier for a teenager to get his hands on a Glock than a computer … or even a book. First, there's these places called libraries that will let you read books without going through any paperwork at all. Quite a few of these … libraries … will let you check out books and—wait for it—take them home without so much as a simple background check.

Past Time to Be Human
by Cathy L. Z. Smith
It is conservatism, in the generic sense, that will destroy the promise of America, and the republicans and the democrats—and their followers—are the poster children for that conservatism. I am an anarchist. I am an anarchist because that is the true and truthful philosophy of the founding of this country—though those founders, too, had their conservative bias—manifest in an unwillingness to call things by their real names, define them appropriately, and provide for their (and our) future security. They may, perhaps and in some instances, be forgiven—having hailed from a more literate time—but they might have drawn more thoroughly on the lessons of history. They might have seen that the leviathan they were unleashing would stop at nothing to return to the absolute rule they had fought to escape.

EDITORIAL MATTERS

If you haven't read/voted go read What Shall I Write Next? by L. Neil Smith.

I keep hearing about these Suicide Bombers. What we need is a program for Assisted Suicide Bombing. "You want to go to heaven? Let us help!" The UN would just screw it up. The Red Cross seems mostly competent, but this sounds a bit out of their goals. Perhaps someone can start up a small business to carry it out? I'm sure things will get sorted out.

And like I said, this here presidential election is a choice of either a Used Car Salesman, or The Wicked Witch of the West. (Better watch out from those buckets of water, darlin'!) What a country!
