Writing The Lando Calrissian Adventures
by L. Neil Smith
It says here there’s a big legal hassle going on
over who owns the intellectual property rights to sabacc, the game
mentioned in Star Wars in which Han Solo won the Millennium
Falcon from Lando Calrissian. I make no such claim, myself. The game was
only that single, naked word when I first ran across it, but I can tell you
with absolute certainty who createdthe game, with a proper set of
rules and everything.

Not One More Word
by Sarah A. Hoyt
I come not to defend Roseanne Barr nor to bury her. I
really don’t give a hang about what some actress says or thinks, and my

said or what she meant a reason to create a hue and cry in England? Except of
course the left thinks it supports their narrative.

despite its flaws, the essay remains a valuable weapon in the libertarian
arsenal, and will remain one when Rand and Nozick will chiefly be names found
in histories of twentieth century thought.

by Vin Suprynowicz
I was a newspaper guy—reporter and editor—for
40-some years. (Yeah, scary.) My attitude was, “Tell me your sacred cows—
the stuff you don’t want me to write about. Because that’s what I
’m gonna write about.

Norseman’s Diaries: Springtime Reboot
by Jeff Fullerton
Saturday—Memorial Day Weekend and I’m short on
time as usual and struggling to put together a long overdue Spring Edition
after a spring that was long in coming. And I’m struggling with the
usual conflict between devoting the time to get it done or the pull of the
outdoors and other things in need of doing.
