The people could not be given what they had asked
for. It would set a precedent. Give them that, and
they would start believing they lived in a
democracy where votes counted for something.
The Iron Is Hot

Well, now I’ve seen everything.
I’ve seen men walk on the Moon. I’ve seen two Presidents impeached and then depeached … or whatever. I’ve seen a juggling bear ride a unicycle and an elephant fly. I’ve seen the state of Virginia, the very cradle of American liberty, birthplace of George Washington, George Mason, and Thomas Jefferson, obscenely despoiled, transformed hideously into an autocratic dictatorship, trembling on the brink of revolution. I’ve seen the United Kingdom of Great Britain fight bitterly for and win sovereignty and independence. Truly the world turned upside-down.
Now, if we really intend to keep our vaunted republic, we have a great deal of work ahead of us. And by “we” I mean you because I’m only an old man in a wheelchair and can’t do much of anything but think. What I think now, is that the evil Governor of Virginia and his vile legislature must be dealt with severely—like the ancient saying has it—“as wolves are”.
To begin with, understand that most state legislators operate and maintain private businesses on the side. If they don’t, then their spouses do, or their children. Those businesses must die. We have been too soft, easy, and forgiving, too polite. They can be boycotted out of existence, or they can be microscopically scrutinized and prosecuted for the most minuscule violation of the stupidest law on the books. Customer complaints can be solicited and publicized. If the average business suffers a five percent loss, it’s on the slippery slope to bankruptcy. In the words of Nero Wolfe, we must make it impossible for them to live.
At the same time, not one of these lowly, belly-crawling vermin should ever be reelected without the most savage opposition. They are killers and the enablers of killers. Not only should Republicans put up candidates against them (if I fail to mention Libertarians it’s only because the LP has rendered itself impotent and irrelevant), but they must be primaried within their own party.
Even if this opposition is unsuccessful in any given race, it inevitably costs the enemy valuable resources that they wouldn’t otherwise have had to expend. George Soros’ pockets are deep, but not bottomless. Attrition is the name of this game; it’s the same way that the American Revolution was fought and won. Always make absolutely certain that they know the non-negotiable price they must pay for peace is repeal of any law that contravenes the Second Amendment, and restored respect for the Bill of Rights in general.
There are many other states and other state legislatures that could use this treatment, as well. It is a morally disgusting fact that my own beloved Colorado, the crown of the Golden West, is a so-called “blue state” with a Governor who is, for all practical purposes, a communist. Another damned wealthy Marxist. We have recalled anti-Constitutional politicians before. We must start doing it again. Or making it impossible for them to earn a living where we live. The Republican Party is particularly weak here, too, and stupid. Like their beer.
Second stage: just for starters, any politician, bureaucrat, police officer, or judge, anyone in authority who introduces, passes, or enforces so called “red flag laws”—as blatant a violation of the highest law of the land as there can be—must be energetically prosecuted and severely punished under appropriate sections of the U.S. Code and the Fourteenth Amendment. Life at hard labor in a reopened Alcatraz seems about right, although I believe this new movement I’m calling for should adopt as its logo a cute little cartoon guillotine. A wink is as good as a nod.
What I’ve suggested here must be used against the U.S. House and Senate, as well, unless we want a bloody fight every year (just like the past fifty or sixty years) to keep “inalienable” rights that were supposed to have been guaranteed to us by the Constitution. I’ve been fighting every day since 1962, and I’m damned tired. But I will never give up.
Never.
Give.
Up.
The Tlaibs, Swallwells, Schumers, Schiffs, Sanders, Romneys, Pressleys, Pelosis, Omars, Ocasio-Cortezes, Nadlers, Kerrys, Bushes, Bidens and notable other political pond-scum must all be turned out and their toxic ilk never returned to office if our country is to survive to its Tricentennial. Nihilistic and pacifistic forms of the freedom philosophy must be cast away and abandoned.
Try to understand, readers and friends, that I am a libertarian. In many ways, I am the libertarian, having stood doggedly behind this pop-stand for half a century when others found “perfectly sensible” reasons to duck and flinch. I am decidedly not a Republican, no matter what my detractors may tell you, but thanks to cowardly and myopic LP leadership, the GOP is the only effective weapon in our hands at the moment to defend what our Founding Fathers won for us. Those crazy enough to vote for Democrat policies—which consist of nothing but vandalism, theft, and cannibalism—are masochists looking for company.
Screw “Godwin’s Law”—whose interests does it serve, anyway? The American enemies of liberty are no less malevolent and repulsive than the Third Reich or Maoist China or North Korea. Their plans for us are no less violent and destructive. Fortunately, the Democrats are at war with themselves right now, divided between outright communism and politically-correct Stalinist surrealism. We must make sure that they consume each other and themselves.
