“Gun control is the idea that it’s better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand.”—T.D. Melrose

Obituary: Ron Perlman, R.I.P.
by L. Neil Smith
It’s possible that this obituary is a trifle premature, but I think it may be useful as a thought experiment. I first noticed Ron Perlman in the medieval murder mystery Name of the Rose. The star was supposed to be Sean Connery, but Perlman completely stole the show with his appealing and heartbreaking portrayal of the retarded monk Salvatore.

The Deep Breath
by Sarah A. Hoyt
You know where you are. I know where we are. The first week was …. rough, but now, among our side, a strange calm has set in, even as our press shrills ever more loudly that we MUST believe them, and idiots run around saying “if only we give in to them, they’ll be quiet.”

Do Flying Saucers Exist?
by Sean Gabb
Though what he really said is open to doubt, the nuclear physicist Enrico Fermi gave his name to a short and possibly final argument against the existence of intelligent life on other planets. There are 200 billion stars in our galaxy alone. 20 billion of these are like our own sun. Let us assume that one in five of these has planets—and we find new exoplanets every year—and let us assume that one in a hundred of these one in five has one planet with liquid water: that gives us 40 million earth-like planets. I will not carry on with the assumptions, but it seems reasonable that there should be around a hundred thousand other advanced civilisations in our galaxy alone.

Don’t Que the Fat Lady Yet
by Sean Gangol
In the last election I predicted correctly that Donald Trump would win the presidency. I also predicted that he would win again in this current run. In a way, I was right, despite what the Democrats and their cronies in the media say. I can’t even begin to tell you how I distrust the current vote count in the critical swing states, except that there is nothing about it that smells right. I should have known that this Vote by Mail scheme was a recipe for disaster. Donald Trump and just about every conservative media outlet predicted it. There was even a series of books called The Fallen Empires written by James Rosone and Miranda Watson, which actually predicted a debacle similar to our current situation. Though in these books the outcome of the rigged election led to a civil war, an invasion from the UN and in all-out war with China. Let us hope that it never comes to any of that. Yet, I wanted to be more optimistic about the election, since everything else in 2020 has been one sour note after another. I suppose election integrity is just too much to ask for from the left.

The Land of Ooog
by Paul Bonneau
Some time ago I was living in Wyoming, and somewhere in there I decided to write a book, my first and only such attempt. Well, it fizzled; I just don't have the drive for that sort of thing. However it just occurred to me that people might be interested in it, as far as I got with it. Might give some chuckles. If any real authors think it's a worthy start, and want to run with it, let me know…

The Lull Before the Sh!t Storm
by Jim Davidson
We are not in the middle of a terribly violent storm, and for that I am very grateful. Americans are not yet fighting one another in street battles in major cities along the coasts and in some places in the middle of the country. I, for one, continue to believe that is coming.

The Norseman’s Diaries: Post Election Special
by Jeff Fullerton
I came, I saw, I voted. For Donald John Trump again and against the scourge of democratic socialism and the wretched GND they are looking to ram down our throats in 2021. And for another 4 years to at least hold the left wing tyrants at bay and enjoy life a little longer. And even the remote hope that the nation might take a more prosperous turn and the radical left is exposed for what it is and the majority of Americans come to realize that individual freedom is the solution to the human condition and we go on to usher in a new age of expansion out into space and secure a future of abundant energy and other resources and put asunder forever the possibility of one of those dark dystopian futures hallmark of science fiction. That’s what the left is out to give us. And why I will do everything I can to keep them away from the reigns of power and undermine and derail their agenda whenever they get into power.
