A major event in my life this week. I ate an octopus. It was at this Oriental buffet place, and I got some of this and that, one of them was a sort of seafood stew. When I got back to the dining table, I noticed there was this octopus in it. Not very big, but an octopus. First I offered it to my grandsons, but they declined. I then offered it to my daughter-in-law, but she said she'd already eaten hers, and it was kind of chewy. My son was still out at the steam-tables.
So I said to myself: “Self! How bad can it be?”
And there was only one way to find that out. So I ate it.
Kinda chewy. Almost rubbery. Not bad, though. Not great, but not bad. So … now I've eaten an octopus. Golly.

I could be wrong, of course. At any rate, we shall surely find out Real Soon Now.
