Create Your Own Personal Supersedure Zone

First, I acknowledge that we are ALL subject to blatantly open collectivist forces that are superior, but diminishing. Should a person (you or me) openly confront those forces (Rambo or the Branch Davidians at Waco come to my mind) or quietly avoid confrontations such as the Amish communities thru-out North America have done? I think that the Supersedure Zones described in the Covenant of Unanimous Consent [see copy attached below] are best suited to the second, non-confrontational approach that echos the philosophy of Tao Guang Yang Hui: “to hide one’s capabilities and bide one’s time.“ Being openly confrontational just paints a target on you and your efforts. This does NOT rule out the possibility nor necessity of self defense!

Nanny State 101: How to make Childhood Suck

After reading No Child Left Alone: Getting Government Out of Parenting by Abby Schachter, I find myself expressing a wide range of emotions. There were times where I found myself laughing at the absolute absurdity at how the government likes to put a protective bubble over America’s youth. Then there were times I found my blood boiling at how government bureaucrats have the audacity to not only undermine parental authority, but to pretty much take the fun out of being a kid. Abby Schachter is part of the Free-Range Kids Movement, which believes in letting kids be kids by letting them take the same risks that many of us took when we were kids. What risks? I don’t know. Climbing trees, going to the playground by themselves or simply playing in the front-yard, while their mother sits back in a lawn-chair reading a book.

Pulpy Goodness

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a thing for the Pulps. As a kid I vaguely recall watching the Doc Savage movie on AMC or some such place, though it’s been so many years that everything about the movie is a blur. In my teens I sat through the mostly abysmal The Shadow , and enjoyed the feel of the thing, more than the flick itself. The Rocketeer, on the other hand, grabbed me by the collar and wouldn’t let go for more than one glorious hour, and is a yearly rewatch.
