Compromise: Political Poison
by L. Neil Smith
As American kids grow up, authority figures all around them—public
school teachers, local and national political leaders, the broadcast and print media,
ministers and priests, and other useless busybodies—are always very enthusiastic
about the idea of compromise. Compromise, these Judas goats and stable ponies always
proclaim in the most glowing terms, is the one absolutely indispensable, magical key
to living and working within that best of all possible political worlds, a democracy.
If everybody takes a stance and won't budge, if nobody is willing to give at least an
inch (if not a mile), why, then nothing will ever get done! This, of course, overlooks
the obvious fact that there are a great many circumstances—almost all of which
involve government in some way—in which nothing ever should get done.

The IRS Will Never Find Us in the Asteroid Belt
by Jeff Fullerton
Freeman Dyson should be a Tea Party Patron Saint!
I had come to that conclusion a little before a friend sent me this link:
Physicist Freeman Dyson in addition to being an intellectual heir to
Albert Einstein in the field of quantum physics is also noted for
some very esoteric ideas ; like the concept of a "Dyson Sphere"—the
hallmark of an advanced interplanetary civilization which might build
a sphere around its home star to capture the maximum solar energy
output and the Dyson Tree—a genetically engineered tree that would
take hold on a comet or asteroid and grow its own greenhouse in the
form of a transparent airtight cuticle in which it and companion
lifeforms including human colonists could survive and prosper.

The Legacy of Margaret Thatcher
by Sean Gabb
Much will be said over the next few weeks about the "achievements"
of Margaret Thatcher. These will probably divide between Daily Mailish eulogies and
Guardianesque whines. My own view is that she was a bad thing for England. She started
the transformation of this country into a politically correct police state.

The M in MSNBC stands for "Marxist"
by L. Neil Smith
The New World Order, according to television commentator Melissa
Harris-Perry, of MSNBC (transcribed from a video on YouTube): "We have never invested
as much in public education as we should have, because we've always had kind of a
private notion of children. Your kid is yours, and totally your responsibility. We haven't
had a very collective notion of these are our children....

I Used To, But Not No More
by A.X. Perez
It must have been back in the Eighties that I first heard a friend
claim that mass shootings were "false flag" or "Manchurian Candidate" operations, that
is, Them got some dupe to commit a horrific mass murder using guns to
either get some anti-gun law passed or block the passage of a pro-gun law. At first I
thought they were just being paranoid (disclosure, I'd thought the same thing before I
ever heard it verbalized, but I thought I was just being paranoid. And I'm sure many of
you can say the same.)

Why Obama Will Lose on Guns
by L. Neil Smith
Dear Mr. Carroll, I greatly enjoyed your Washington Examiner
article about the futility of passing gun control laws (although we prefer to call the
process "victim disarmament") However there is one series of measures, unthinkable to
"progressives", but proven in the real world beyond a shadow of a doubt: arm the potential victims.

Facing NRA Lawsuit, San Francisco Admits Its New Ordinance
Doesn't Ban Hollow-point Ammunition After All
by Michel & Associates
In the face of an NRA lawsuit, on April 5, 2010, the San Francisco
Police Department provided formal written confirmation that, contrary to multiple
statements by San Francisco politicians who oppose the constitutional right to keep and
bear arms, the City's recently enacted ban on the possession of certain ammunition does
not prohibit possession of hollow-point ammunition after all. The City's late-hour concession
was prompted by a pending legal challenge by the NRA.

What Really is Their Goal?

The current administration and its partners in Congress are putting
an immense amount of effort into new gun restrictions. The question that isn't asked much
is "why are they doing that?"

Some Things Never Change
by Sean Gangol
For the past five months both the government and the media have been
on full-spin mode on the issue of victim disarmament. Ever since the horrific shooting in
Connecticut, the victim disarmament crowd has done everything in their ability to exploit
this tragedy, which seems to be the case whenever a shooting takes place. Rest assured
you will always find people that will never hesitate to dance in the blood of the victims,
especially when the victims are children. There are some things that never change.

Outrage
by A.X. Perez
Recently The Blaze posted an article about a child who was
assigned by his teacher in class to write the following: "I am willing to give up some
of my constitutional rights in order to be safer or more secure." (Neale Osborn put me
wise to this). As a teacher in Texas who is expected to teach the first quote I was
infuriated that someone would teach this garbage. As a lover of freedom I was infuriated.
As a free man and free American I was infuriated. I understand the kid's father was a damn
sight angrier than I'll ever be. It was, after all, his kid being taught this heinous lie.

Group Actions, Frowned Upon
by Paul Bonneau
It's interesting what can happen when people get together in a group.
Not all of it is good, of course. Everyone knows of the flash mobs ransacking shops these
days. However even those can be instructive. For one thing, they form quickly, with little
if any prior organization. And, they use current technology (Twitter I think).

Regarding the "Toomey Compromise" and the Victim Disarmament Agenda: An Open Letter to the Senate
by Jim Woosley
I have just submitted the following to Shelby, Sessions, Paul, Cruz,
and Lee's online forms... I suggest you do the same at www.senate.gov Note in particular
at item 1, the Toomey bill says "Congress supports and reaffirms the existing prohibition
on a national firearms registry." and Nothing in this title, or any amendment made by this
title, shall be construed to—(1) expand in any way the enforcement authority or jurisdiction
of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; or (2) allow the establishment,
directly or indirectly, of a Federal firearms registry.

Neale's Weekly Gun Rant, Volume 5

Gun makers of America, you now have another haven. Texas has told you that
THEY will never tolerate 2nd Amendment infringements like NY, Maryland, Colorado, and Connecticut
have shoved down the throats of both their citizens AND the firearms manufacturers that employ
some of those citizens. Texas- the eyes of freedom are upon you. Stay strong!!
