Current Events
by L. Neil Smith
When I was a young psychology student, I learned about an incident
during the Great Depression in which some number of Navajos, who led a relatively primitive
existence in Arizona at the time, were experimentally taken on a sightseeing visit to
Chicago. Imagine silver concho belts, jeans, beads, and velveteen shirts on Wacker Drive.

The Ghostbusters Foley
by Sean Gangol
For those of you who haven't been keeping up with what's about to be
released at the cinema, the remake of an eighties classic is about to hit the big screen.
If you can't tell by the title of this article, then maybe you will remember the famous
catch praise "Who ya gonna call?" As a child of the eighties and early nineties, I always
get a case of nostalgia when I think of the Ghostbusters. I saw this movie countless times
as a child and I watched the cartoon "The Real Ghostbusters" religiously every Saturday
morning. I also have fond memories of playing with the action figures and the toy proton pack.
Hell, I even enjoyed Ghostbusters II, even though it wasn't as good as the original.

Time to Declare a War on Cops
by Kent McManigal
There is no "war on cops". No matter what copsuckers... er, I mean
badgefluffers... sorry, law enforcement apologists would desperately want you to believe,
there just isn't. But, such a war really needs to begin. Now! I'm not suggesting that
everyone start sniping cops from rooftops. Keep your jimmies unrustled. I'm saying there
needs to be a war of education aimed at the absurd beliefs which give cops their power and
support. That support may be vulnerable, due to the constant efforts of the police to confirm
my suspicions as to their lack of ethics and their true nature. There's no better time than
the present to start chipping away at the false legitimacy your neighbors have erected around the police.

Stand Tall and Stand Strong
by Nic Leobold
After five Dallas policemen were shot dead during Black Lives Matter
protests, I was very disappointed in the public reaction to the attacks. Again I read
heart-twisting pleas for more gun control, more restrictions against civilian ownership of
body armor, and loud cries of "tragedy" and "pray for the officers!". But feeling grief for
the dead police officers rings hollow to me. The public cries about more tragic violence,
but in my eyes all I see is blowback. When violence strikes even staunch Gun Rights advocates
seem to suddenly forget who the police really are: Our slavemasters. Police are the thugs who
maintain the status quo, lock us up when we violate victimless laws, and ensure in countless
ways that we remain under the thumbs of the parasite politicians.

The Mother of Order
by Paul Bonneau
After the recent cop shooting in Dallas, it has been interesting to
watch the response on various forums. It's a bit schizophrenic, with some ranting about
damned murderous negroes (apparently forgetting the whole thing was kicked off by the murder
of negroes). Others are cheering, more or less, the cops finally getting their comeuppance.
Of course in any such event, collectivism always comes to the fore. It's like Pavlov ringing his
bell. Killing cops in Texas over murder by cop in Louisiana and Minnesota certainly is collectivism,
as is blaming all dark brown people for the murder of those Dallas cops, or ranting against Black Lives Matter.

Transient and Not so Transient Causes
by Jeff Fullerton
The world this week has been so filled with evil that the temptation
is strong to turn away from it and not say anything. Given there are plenty of people out
there on all sides of the isle with plenty to say about a nation where you have cops shooting
the people and people shooting cops and plenty of political hay to be made over the issue of
guns on the Left and Right.

If you haven't read/voted go read What Shall I Write Next? by L. Neil Smith.
Well, now. As of this issue I have converted our little online magazine to use HTML5 and CSS. (Mostly.) This is for the new files from this day forward. Am I going to go back and convert all of the 10- or 20-thousand files we already have? No, I am not. No. Nope.
So what? you ask yerself. Well, in addition to just being modern and stuff, it will make all new articles a bit easier to read on portable devices. You know, phones, tablets, brain-implants, and so on. Remember, you heard it here first.
Todays' Motto, "[Cultural] ignorance is the intended consequence of our educational system, a sign of its robust health and success." is from "How a Generation Lost Its Common Culture" By Patrick Deneen. Read it here
Of course, most of us already know about this stuff. I only recently learned where it came from (other than the Ford Foundation): the "Frankfurt School", for which see Wikipedia for a good summary. Of course, while reading that article remember to substitute "Mercantilism" for every occurrence of "Capitalism", unless you have just given up on that word and use "Free Market" instead, which "Capitalism" as used is not.
Trigger Warning: This issue of this magazine (like all the
others) may contain:
Humor, Snark, Truth, Thoughts That Might Be Different Than Yours, Ideas You Never Thought Of, Things You Never Heard Of, and so on.
There are NO "Safe Spaces!"
YOU have been WARNED!
We are a Reader-Supported on-line eMagazine. Click the "Pay"
