The Murderous State of New York
by L. Neil Smith
People who know me, or are familiar with my work,
understand that, as a libertarian—rather than a conservative—I’m a lifelong
advocate and supporter of a woman’s natural right to control her own body,
by means of an abortion, if necessary. In the past, not everybody agreed
with me about that (I never expected them to), but it was relatively simple
and straightforward.

If You HAVE TO Learn to Code
by Sarah A. Hoyt
Ladies, Gentlemen, Oxen and creatures of unknown
provenance: this is your final warning. Okay, that’s a little over dramatic. It’s not your final
warning, because this kind of disaster is slow-mo and will be playing out
over the next ten years, (and the recovery will take longer than that) and I
will try to give more warnings, and yes, material help or intellectual help
if I’m in a position to do so (which depends on my getting serious about
this crap instead of half measures).

Sad Understanding
by Harding McFadden
As much as it pains me to be writing this, I can no
longer deny that things are looking toward a Civil War more each day.
Understand that I do not welcome this, but neither will I shy from the
responsibility that each of us share, as freedom-loving Americans, to uphold
the Constitution of the United States, and the inalienable rights guaranteed
therein. Only a madman looks forward to spilling the blood of his fellow
citizens, and I am no madman. But neither am I a pushover that will stand
idly by while the Communists that have been elected by an ever-increasingly,
intentionally dumbed-down populace jackboot their way into our Lives, while
going out of their way to remove our Liberties and Pursuits of Happiness.

The Three Pillars of the Second Amendment
by Terence James Mason
The recent rash of mass shootings in so-called “gun free
zones” such as theaters, malls, and schools, culminating in the tragedy at
Newtown, Connecticut, has led to mass calls for tighter restrictions on
firearms sales, while ignoring the inconvenient (for the gun control lobby)
facts that the presence of armed civilians stops such events very early in
their progression—and that societies that have disarmed have much higher
rates of crime, and no appreciable reduction in crimes of mass violence,
than those where citizens are ready and trained to defend themselves.

Monsters and Empty Heads
by Harding McFadden
The foundation that our republic stands on—the Bill of
Rights—has been under assault by the Democratic party for at least as long
as I can remember. In my own lifetime, there’s been the attempts of Waco
Willy and Saint Barry, which have left a bad taste in more than one mouth. A
cursory look at American history will show that they are just more of the
same. Carter, Johnson, Roosevelt, and on the other side of the isle Lincoln
and others have gone out of their way to attempt to remove those God-given
rights that make us citizens, and not just more subjects. The political
elite are that most vile of things: creatures that want power for its own
sake. The bitter things that inhabit the capital presently are no exception.
If anything, they may actually be worse.
